Create a Think Tank Mastermind

As a business owner in this era of tough global competition, you look for ways of generating extra value for your assets. People and information are two critical resources being recognized as valuable assets.  You need a constant supply of critical information to achieve the success you dream about.  It is very important that you stay aware of trends and issues and keep up with rapid economic and technological changes to become and stay competitive. Your “knowledge network,” consists of your most brilliant POI’s, the people who can provide you with the knowledge and expertise you need to run a successful enterprise.   Knowledge networking through Mastermind groups is an effective way of combining individuals’ knowledge and skills in the pursuit of personal and organizational objectives.

As you attend your Mastermind meetings on a weekly basis and you hear different individuals talk about their business you may discover that it’s next to impossible to keep up with all this information on your own. There is simply too much of it, and your own inclinations and time limitations steer you toward some kinds of knowledge but cause you to neglect others. You may be strong in marketing and business planning, but weak in personnel and legal matters.

Fortunately, the knowledge you lack is always someone else’s specialty in the Mastermind, so you can turn to other members for help. This is what you are preparing to do when you set up your Mastermind’s information component–a web of contacts through the Mastermind who know and understand what you must do to achieve success in your profession or business and who have the experience to help you achieve your goals.  Tap into these members and watch your growth.

  • I have taken great comfort in knowing that I can ask the mastermind for help in the areas I lack knowledge. Sometimes the help is instantaneous. Sometimes it comes in the way of a referral for help outside the group. However there is always help and always a answer.

Seek and you shall find is the old proverb. The question is how far do you have to seek for the answer. The mastermind is a short cut to most answers.

  • I cannot even begin to fully describe how much help I feel I am getting from our Mastermind group! The name “Think Tank” is very appropriate. There are at least two scenarios here: 1.) You may be aware of the fact that you are lacking some information, and you are asking for it. Chances are someone in the Mastermind group knows the answer or knows someone who does. 2.) You may not even be aware that there’s information available on something that would be extremely helpful to you. We may call it “blindspot”. Or we may say that “I don’t know what I don’t know”. Either way, Mastermind members have often pointed out or thought of things that were outside of my awareness at that time. The growth I’ve gone through because of it is tremendous. The cool thing is that it is a constant give and take. And that feels really, really good!

  • Stephie I love the blindspot issue and wanted to touch on it a little more. I do believe we have many blindspots and the mastermind group helps us see them in such a loving and multi dimensional way, as to lead us constantly upward. I love my blindspots for it forces me to seek others advice and support which creates the cycle of giving and recieving. Im grateful to each of you for your constant show of my blindspots. Much love

No matter what happens in the economy, if you’re rich in knowledge you’ll be rich in resources. Networking with people who have knowledge in areas you might be lacking is just as important as finding people with sales leads; it’s all the same! Embracing the humility to accept that you don’t know it all and letting others help you is another crucial step to becoming a true “Mastermind”!
